Moves
In the spring of
2000 the Governance Board and representatives from the Community
Partners met to develop the direction for Anchorage’s
Success By 6. The following Bold Moves evolved from these
planning sessions.
- Develop an easily accessible and regularly maintained
directory of all services and programs working with children
and families throughout Anchorage.
- Inform everyone in Anchorage on the factors needed to
help children become successful.
- Make affordable quality child care and education available
for every child in Anchorage.
- Advocate for early developmental screening for all children
in Anchorage.
- Promote ongoing dialogues between agencies serving children
and families and elected officials.
- Support the improvement of systems to train people working
with young children and families.
- Educate youth and adults about what it means to become
a parent.
- Provide parenting information that is engaging for diverse
audiences.
